A Study on the Family Conflicts and School Maladjustment

Abstract
The school maladjustment of a adolescence group becomes more aggravated and is on the increase. The purpose of this study was to analyse the relationship between family conflicts and school maladjustment. As a research method, this study collected self-administered survey, and data were collected from middle and high school in Seoul. Out of 280 samples collected, 268 cases were finally selected for the analysis. T-test, ANOVA, correlation analysis and multiple regression analysis were used by SPSS 10.0 statistical package program
The most important result of this study is that parents relationship variable and school life satisfaction tum out to have the greatest influence on school maladjustment.
From these findings, we suggest some implications as follows.
Fitst, communication between parents and students is essential to solve the problems of school maladjustment.
Second, it is important for a school staff to look carefully at students who exhibit signs of school maladjustment.
Third, friendships is one of the most important features of young lives. So the ability to make and keep friends is widely regarded as a critical factor to solve school maladjustment.
Fourth, a variety of programs are available for schools to employ in an effort to provide interventions for students who demonstrate school maladjustment.
Finally, it is necessary for family, school and all the society members to comprehensively cooperate to solve family conflicts and school maladjustment.
